Tier 2 exam consists of three sections with different modules.

Module-I: Mathematical Abilities

  • Number Systems: Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals, Fractions.
  • Arithmetic: Percentages, Ratio, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss.
  • Algebra: Basic algebraic identities, Surds, Graphs of Linear Equations.
  • Geometry: Triangles, Circles, Chords, and Tangents.
  • Mensuration: Area and volume of Prisms, Cones, Cylinders, Spheres.
  • Trigonometry: Ratios, Identities, Height and distances.
  • Statistics & Probability: Charts, Graphs, Mean, Median, Mode.

Module-II: Reasoning & General Intelligence

  • Analogy & Classification: Semantic, Symbolic/Number, and Figural.
  • Series & Trends: Semantic, Number, and Figural series.
  • Spatial Reasoning: Venn Diagrams, Pattern Folding & Unfolding.
  • Problem Solving & Logic: Critical Thinking, Drawing Inferences.
  • Coding & Operations: Word Building, Coding & Decoding.
  • Intelligence Concepts: Emotional & Social Intelligence.

Module-I: English Language & Comprehension

  • Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Homonyms, Spellings, Idioms.
  • Grammar: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Sentence Improvement.
  • Voice & Narration: Active/Passive and Direct/Indirect.
  • Sentence Rearrangement: Para Jumbles.
  • Reading Comprehension: Cloze Test and passages.

Module-II: General Awareness

  • History & Culture: Historical events, figures, traditions, festivals.
  • Geography: Physical and political geography of India.
  • Economic Scene: Economic policies, Indian Economy, budget news.
  • General Policy & Scientific Research: Schemes, political structure, advancements.
  • Current Affairs: National and international events, sports, awards.

Module-I (Section III): Computer Knowledge

  • Computer Basics (CPU, I/O, Memory)
  • Software: MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Working with Internet & E-mail
  • Networking & Cyber Security Basics

Module-II (Section III): Skill/Typing Test

  • Skill Test for DEOs: 8,000 Key Depressions per hour.
  • Typing Test for LDC/JSA: English (35 w.p.m) or Hindi (30 w.p.m).
  • Qualifying in nature.

Important Points

  • Tier I is mandatory for all candidates.
  • Tier II includes Sections I, II, and III.
  • Section III (Computer Knowledge and Skill/Typing Test) is qualifying in nature.
  • Negative Marking: Tier I (-0.50 marks), Tier II (-1 mark for Section I & II).
